Billy Bowie Special Projects Ltd is the industry leader in Waste Management and the collections, transportation, and treatment or disposal of all non-hazardous waste. We operate throughout the UK with our main operations base in Kilmarnock.

 

We are looking for an Experienced Traffic Office Co-Ordinator to work in our busy Transport Office. You will be working as part of a team on a changeable working pattern, routing a fleet of 100+ Tankers running from sites nationally.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Traffic Office Co-Ordinator, you will be working with our customers and drivers, routing company-owned vehicles around the UK.

You must be able to route as cost-effectively as possible and have a vast knowledge of the geography of the UK.

As a Traffic Office Co-Ordinator, your responsibility is to route in line with the WTD and Drivers’ Hours.

Mandatory:

  • Provide a high standard of Customer Service in person, online, and by telephone. Serve internal and external customers, including individuals and businesses, who interact with Billy Bowie Special Projects Ltd.
  • To plan, direct, and control the activities of the transport fleet by utilising all available routing systems.
  • Responsible for developing daily, cost-efficient transport plans by operating specific customer IT software to coordinate and schedule routes.
  • Complete all daily paperwork and ensure accurate records. Familiarity with SEPA and WTD is beneficial.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • To be involved in an ‘on-call’ Rota.
  • Experience, Skills, and attributes:
  • Experience of working within a Tankering / Distribution environment with knowledge of transport legislation is an advantage.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The depot operates 24/7; you must be flexible in your approach to work.
  • This is a very busy environment, so you must be able to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail. Be a strong team player and to communicate clearly with customers and your team.
