IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, have released a 1:50 scale Iveco Stralis Hi-Way (6×2) tractor unit with triaxle industrial vacuum tanker trailer, customised in the novel livery of Kilmarnock based waste disposal specialist and tanker services contractor Billy Bowie Tankers. Billy Bowie Special Projects Ltd was incorporated in 1991 and started out with just one truck, a Ford D Series tanker. Some 25 years later, the business has grown immeasurably and now operates a varied fleet of 160 vehicles, ranging from vacuum tankers and rigid tankers, through to flex-line units and gully motors and is one of the most modern fleets in the industry. Services offered include waste management solutions, vacuum tanker technology, jet/vac combination units, skips, drainage and sewer cleaning. The company has also opened additional bases, (two in Yorkshire and one in Cheshire), thereby enabling it to offer a UK wide service. One of the latest vehicles to sign for the Billy Bowie fleet is a new Iveco unit with vacuum tank trailer. The reason for kitting it out in football strip (and not just any strip!) can be clearly traced back to 1995 when managing director Billy Bowie (who had always had a soft spot for Kilmarnock Football Club) made the decision to start sponsoring them. Some 19 years later, in 2014, following unwavering support of the club and on-going sponsorship, Billy Bowie was appointed to the board of directors of Kilmarnock FC. Fans can look out for Billy at both home and away games as he follows his beloved Killie! Billy hopes that his involvement can help start a new chapter in the distinguished history of Scotland’s oldest professional football club. www.search-impex.co.uk
